Privacy Policy — Folio Words

Last updated: 4 October 2026

Folio Words ("the App") is a vocabulary notebook for iPhone and iPad. This policy describes what data the App handles. The short version: it collects none — everything you enter stays on your device.

1. Who we are

The App is developed by Andrei Yaroshkin (AY Studio), an individual developer. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].

2. Data we collect

None. The App has no account, no server of ours, and no way of sending your data to us. We do not collect, sell, share, or monetize any data.

3. What stays on your device

The dictionaries, words, notes, and learning progress you enter are stored locally on your device, in the App's own storage. We cannot see them.

4. What we do NOT collect

  • Your name, email, phone number, or any other contact information
  • Your location
  • Photos, contacts, microphone, camera, or any other device permission — the App asks for none
  • Analytics about how you use the App
  • Diagnostics or crash reports (the App contains no third-party analytics or crash-reporting code)
  • Advertising identifiers or any tracking data

5. Network and third parties

The App is designed to work fully offline and makes no network requests. It contains no third-party code for advertising, analytics, or tracking, and we share your data with no one — we do not have it. The only time the App sends you out of itself is the globe icon on the main screen, which, after asking, opens the App's language page in iOS Settings.

6. Keeping, exporting and deleting your data

Your data stays on your device until you remove it. Delete a dictionary from the main screen (press and hold its note, then choose Delete), delete a single word from the dictionary's page, or delete the App to remove everything it stored. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete.

If you export a dictionary, the file is created only when you choose to, and saved where you choose. A cloud folder you pick is then governed by that provider's own terms. Your device's own backup (for example iCloud Backup, if you have turned it on) may include the App's data, under your Apple account's settings; we have no access to it.

7. Children's privacy

The App is intended for general audiences. Because it collects no data from anyone, it collects none from children either.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. The "Last updated" date shows the most recent revision.

9. Contact

Privacy questions or feedback: [email protected]. For help with the App, see the support page.
